This Alesis 3630 Compressor sits below my Tv in the house between the satellite receiver and my audio amplifier, but it developed a fault. In this video I analyse the problem, effect a repair and do some other work to the unit.

The power supply circuit appears to look like this (quick sketch), it consists of a voltage doubler which enables the 9Vac input to provide more than enough DC voltage for the 7815 and 7915 regulators:
